Speakers & Talks

Part 1: Dev Discussion - let's discuss some of the best tools of the trade (in Beta!)

We're experimenting with a brand new {class} of event - the /*discussion!*/ Because we like experiments, our fellow Codepenners know a lot and we think sharing knowledge is super important we have designed a discussion based activity (in Beta) to help the community find some of the best tools tips and tricks out there. The first discussion may involve chickens and eggs. That's right. Be curious ;)

Part 2: Building smart cities with LoRa, by Rob Miles

Yes, technically this talk was slated for March but sometimes diary things happen and now it will be in April's Codepen instead. Yay.

LoRa is a low powered radio networking technology that takes the Internet of Things onto the next level. LoRa lets you add useful wide area networking to tiny embedded devices for just a few pounds. LoRaWan builds on this to give you an easy route to servers and services on the internet.

In this session we'll explain the benefits and limitations of this exciting new technology and show a fully working, end to end, solution in action. We'll tell you how to get started making LoRa powered devices so you can get involved in building Hull's Smart city.
