MuseumIT makes a user’s visit to a museum more
enjoyable. It connects with beacons and provides information to the user.
Beacons are installed near artifacts in the museum. When a user passes an
artifact where a beacon is installed, the application detects the presence of
the beacon; reads the data, and displays a notification having a URL providing
information about the artifact. Users can click the notification and read
information about the artifact as they pass by it. Users can also scan QR codes
associated with the items of scientific, cultural, artistic, or historical
importance and get redirected to a URL providing more information about them.
